Mercado La Paloma, an economic development project of Esperanza Community Housing Corporation, in partnership with The GRAMMY Museum is producing a new series of music showcases highlighting the talent of local performing artists. The idea for the Be Heard Artist Showcase was born out of a growing need to provide space and support for local performing artists to grow their professional capacity. Coupling access to music industry resources (The GRAMMY Museum) with relationships with a cadre of up and coming artists (Mercado La Paloma) the program seeks to create a pathway for interested local artists to pursue a career in the performing arts. This is a natural extension of the mission of Esperanza Community Housing to create entrepreneurship opportunities for members of our community by identifying and cultivating their natural skills and abilities
Each quarter Mercado La Paloma will host three showcases that will feature musicians from diverse genres. Six winners, including two per showcase with one wild card, will be given the opportunity to perform at the GRAMMY Museum's Clive Davis Theater at L.A. LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles. Seven winners from the quarterly showcases will perform in a final performance where they will receive a professional video/audio recording of the live set and have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A panel session with a diverse group of seasoned music industry executives. The seven finalists of the Be Heard Artist Showcasewill also have the opportunity to record a three track demo of their work in a high quality studio with professional mixing capacity through a partnership with the Icon Collective.
We hope to see you there!
