Join us this Friday, May 17th, from 9:30 to 11:30 am, for the second webinar in our Community Ownership and Stewardship series! Secure your spot by RSVPing here.
Communities and organizations nationwide are increasingly embracing community ownership and stewardship models to foster a fairer and more equitable economy and living environment. However, a significant hurdle to this movement's growth is the access to resources—be it funding, social capital, technical expertise, financing, legal aid, or policies conducive to the flourishing of community ownership structures.
In this webinar, part of our "Pathways to Community Ownership" event series, we'll engage in a conversation with experts on connecting resources to transformative community ownership and stewardship projects. Topics include initiating community ownership projects, early implementation challenges, accessing capital, and strategies for scalability and replicability.
In collaboration with practitioners and experts, we'll explore:
Strategies for accessing funding and capital, including innovative real estate financial products.
Building capacity and accessing technical assistance for engaging in community ownership work.
Effective anti-displacement programs and policies that support community ownership and stewardship initiatives.
The first half of the webinar will provide a platform for participants to share questions, insights, and experiences—a vital aspect for field-building. Additionally, we'll spotlight valuable resources on futureby.community, an online hub dedicated to community stewardship and ownership. The second half will feature a panel discussion with experts and practitioners.
The "Pathways to Community Ownership" series is an initiative of the National Equitable Recovery Alliance, a coalition of social entrepreneurs based in six U.S. communities. Our vision entails fostering anti-racist community development driven by local relationships and equity advocates, nurturing a new cohort of anti-racist community developers.
