Azul Cielo, by Maricruz Sibaja
Mercado La Paloma invites the community to experience the Day of the Dead Art Exhibition, a captivating visual tribute to the enduring cultural traditions of Día de los Muertos. Featuring the work of eight talented local artists, the exhibition presents a vibrant collection of original paintings and prints in oils, acrylics, and mixed media. Each piece reflects the deep symbolism and heartfelt rituals that define this cherished celebration of life, memory, and the continuity between the living and the departed.
This year’s exhibition brings together diverse artistic voices, each interpreting the spirit of remembrance through their own cultural and personal lens. Visitors will encounter works that honor ancestors, celebrate community, and explore the emotional connections that transcend mortality. The result is a moving and colorful reflection on how art preserves the stories of those who came before us.
The Day of the Dead Art Exhibition is part of Mercado La Paloma’s annual Día de los Muertos Celebration, which also includes community altar installations and the Day of the Dead Festival. Together, these programs continue Mercado’s tradition of honoring cultural heritage through art, performance, and community gathering.
